Labour Day 2025, 2026 and 2027
Labour Day is a fairly major holiday in Panama, as in most of the rest of Latin America. It comes on 1 May here, not in September as in the US – though the date is based on the Haymarket Massacre that occurred in Chicago in early May 1886.

A long weekend is often taken on Labour Day in Panama, though it depends when exactly the day lands. There will be some parade to celebrate, and there may even be a few labour strikes or protests, promoting workers’ rights and causes.
But the big thing to do is to head to the beach, get out and about, or just relax at home and feast with family and friends. The Panama City Beach is always overcrowded, and tourism usually booms in Panama City on Labour Day.
